About the Doctor

Dina Goytia-Leos, MD

Dr. Dina Goytia-Leos is board certified in the specialty of Internal Medicine and Fellow of the American College of Physicians. A practicing physician in San Antonio for many years, she is well known and respected among her colleagues. She has a B.S. in Pre Medicine/Psychology from Boston College and studied medicine at Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. Her residency was at UTHSCSA, where she was awarded a faculty position for two years teaching residents at the University Hospital, the Veteran’s Administration and participated in research studies which provided additional opportunities.

Dr. Goytia-Leos joined San Antonio Medical Associates in 2002 and for eighteen years was able to practice in her clinic, attend to her patients in the hospital and be available for consultations as needed by specialists. During this time, she was able to forge great relationships with multiple specialists in San Antonio and foster the importance of the patient-physician relationship as well as communication between the doctors. Unfortunately, due to changes within the practice and medicine care in general, she had to stop inpatient care and has remained focused on outpatient evidence-based medicine.

The daughter of adventurous Texans, Dr. Goytia-Leos was born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. On a family trip to South America at the age of ten, she witnessed poverty on an extreme level. It was this formative experience which inspired her to become a physician.

Dr. Goytia-Leos’ main interest has always been traditional medicine. A strong believer in food as medicine and the power of the mind she is an active yogi, runner and is always trying to eat well. She brings years of experience from both hospital and outpatient medicine and values the importance of lifestyle in one’s health and happiness.

True to her roots, she’s married to a Texan, has one grown son and is quite the dog lover.
